IFTTT third-party integration

If you have never heard of IFTTT, then you have been missing a great deal of what the Internet has to offer since the past four years. Let me explain how it works. First of all, IFTTT stands for If This Then That and by creating small automated commands known as ‘Recipes’, you can automate some actions. For example, automatically changing Twitter profile picture when Facebook’s profile picture has been updated.

However, before now, it had a separate app for itself and there was no possibility of integrating it to another app. Well, it looks like it's all about to change with IFTTT announcing third-party app integration for its services. So now, some apps that use home automation for example can now integrate IFTTT to its processes to add more features to the app.

This feature has rolled out on Ring’s video doorbell, banking app Qapital, car diagnostic app Automatic, Foobot’s indoor pollution monitor, voice messenger Roger, Skybell, LIFX, Bloomsky, Abode, Stack Lighting and Garageio just to name a few.

I have, personally, used IFTTT for the past four years and it works seamlessly. You just need to set it up and forget about it. I hope that, with this new feature, other websites will be available for control on the platform and once again make the life of Internet users easier.

So what are your views on the third-party integration of IFTTT? Will it be a useful feature? Let us know in the comment section about it and tell us about your experience of IFTTT if you have used it. Follow us on social media to catch the latest of the tech world.
