Chromebook set to grow to 17 million units by 2023, plans future in cloud computing


The Chromebooks is constantly sustaining its steady rise amongst other brands in a competitive ecosystem.


According to a new report by Global Market Insights - (a Market Research and Strategy Consulting Firm), analyzing the present and future expectation for the Chromebook device has revealed tremendous growth judging by the results thus projecting the device to exceed 17 million units sale by 2023.


The Chromebooks boast of an overall figure of 5.3 million units shipped, the last year 2015, according to Statista. While so far this year, it has recorded units sale of 2 million, thereby beating the Apple MacBook to 1.7 million units.


Largely, It's appealing to the eyes to know, these Chrome OS computers have better optimal performance, functional flexibility, constant upgrade of internal hardware and largely pretty easy to conveniently use which has further attracted more people to the device - a move worthy of promoting the success story of the Chromebooks.


Overall, the Chromebook has great demand in diverse sector but the hardware is widely been accepted and enjoyed in the education sector by various IT departmental schools considering the “pocket-friendly” nature of the hardware amongst other hardware brands.


In addition, 2014 witnessed the Chromebook experienced over 60% sales only in the USA market which was basically bought by the education sector and the availability of device management software also improved the demand for the Chrome OS hardware.


With these developments, Google is emphasizing and channeling its strength on cloud computing knowing fully well that the Chromebook must align with that future in order to be at par with other giants such as Microsoft and Amazon in terms of rendering services on cloud computing.


However, the journey to 2023 sounds far, although a little step of act each day takes that expectation in becoming a reality. Google's continued desire to push the Chromebook as part of its goals to ensure the quality of providing corporate services across the board is a clear intention.
