Twitter unveils promoted stickers with Pepsi

Popular social media network Twitter now offers the opportunity for businesses and brands to create and promote their stickers on Twitter starting with PepsiCo. Twitter says that its teaming up with companies to offer “promoted stickers”. But they are currently working with Pepsi. It seems Twitter was inspired by Snapchat on this one.

Stickers was first introduced in June by Twitter that serves as hashtags for photos whereby users will see other photos that use same image when they click on those stickers. The social media platform on a blog post says that they will give brands the opportunity for their emoji to appear on their stickers options list. There are over 50 alternatives Pepsi stickers with design on offer.

“We got really excited about it because what stickers do is really allow consumers to express themselves visually on Twitter like never before, and it allows them to be creative,”. “The technology is pretty cool, too. It serves as a visual hashtag.” Carla Hassan, Pepsi’s senior VP-global brand management told AdAge

Twitter says that, this will make it easy for people to create conversation around events and experiences they are happening right now.
