Android 7.0 Nougat potential release date leaked

On March 9, Google dropped the Android 7.0 first developer preview. Now it has been 5 months since the first preview. In most of those updates it has been most bug fixes and other minor changes.

In the latest new Android versions, like Marshmallow and Lollipop, there haven't been so many dev previews as 7.0 Nougat. Google releasing more developer previews is good, especially for app developers that want to add Android Nougat's new features to their applications.

Android Nougat is now confirmed to launch in 22th September. At the same date South Korean LG G5's will receive the Android 7.0 update. So if you don't have a South Korean LG G5 or a Nexus device, you'll need to wait. At the bottom of this post I will write the rumors about when Samsung, HTC and Sony phones will get the Android Nougat.

The Developer Preview 5 didn't come with that many visible features, but of course some bug fixes. Google has announced that further Android updates probably will be carried out seamlessly.

Google's new apps Duo (video calling) and Allo (messaging) will probably bundled with Android Nougat, or maybe with 2016 Nexuses. The biggest problem with both Allo and Duo is that if it just comes to Android 7.0 it maybe will be hard to find contacts, because many people will not get the Nougat update in a while..

When will YOU get Android 7?

Sadly Samsung isn't that fast with Android updates, and some times it even can take five months for the update to come to take to Samsung Galaxy devices. Note 7 will probably get it first, and after that probably all the versions of S7. With some luck the S8 will be released early 2017 and come with Android Nougat out of the box.

HTC isn't super-fast with updates, but they are getting better. When Marshmallow was related it took two months until it came to the first HTC, so we can expect the same result with Nougat updates.

Sony are about as fast as Samsung in terms of updating. For the Z5 to get Marshmallow it took five months. We expect the same result with this update, and the new Xperia X series will probably be the first to get it.

I own a Nexus device just because I want fast updates. How important is fast updates for you? Let us know your answers in the comment section below, or on any of our social media pages!
