Apple is making a change, there are NO more stores... *cue screaming Apple fanboys/girls*. If you're a true Apple fan when you read cue you probably thought Eddy Cue, come on I can't be alone.
It's okay everyone, Apple will still have "stores" we just can't call them that. In all seriousness, Apple is "rebranding" all their retail locations to make them seem less like, well, retail locations.
Apple is evolving their retail locations to be more than stores, and a name change is coming with it. It's more of a hub, for all your technology interactions, for help with your devices, and occasionally to pick up some new gear. As The Next Web puts it, the name change makes you feel like your going to Apple, not just one of their hundreds and hundreds of locations.
My local "store" has already been transformed into a great new place. Between the redesign and the name change, these locations are becoming more and more welcoming and innovative. I think that is what Apple is going for, they don't just want a store, they want a hub.
Has your local Apple "location" been updated if you have one? Let us know in the comments below.
