Twitter has empowered users to control their notifications and timelines from harassment

Twitter is introducing a new tool to avail users to further enjoy the experience of using its services. Henceforth, Twitter users will now have control over their notifications. What this simply implies, is that you now have the power to control what you see and who you interact with on Twitter, specifically to people who you follow

Gone are the days when random tweets, sponsored tweets from visitors easily finds it’s way to people’s pages, now you can easily block such “low quality” tweets. More so, twitter users who are fond of abusing, intimidating or harassing people have finally met their waterloo or those that appear to be automated.

In addition, Twitter is also providing a quality improvement in terms of filters to tweets for its users.

Before now, only verified accounts designated by a blue checkmark by their names only had the option of filtering out indecent tweets.

The San Francisco, California-based social networking service said in a blog post, the new filtering notifications features helps to determine harassment and can easily be taken off via the user's timeline and notification tab.

Meanwhile, this development is in a bid to reduce harassment, considering Twitter’s position last month about expanding and accepting applications for verification purposes to attract more users to its social platform. However, some users still encountered challenges and reported being denied verified. The company boasts of 187, 000 verified users so far compared to 310 million people as its user base.

It’s obvious the company leadership is working hard to increase the growth of its user base considering the launch of these new features for happiness to continually thrive among the users and warmly attracts more users on its social platform.
