Uber doesn’t think Lyft is worth more than $2 billion
Lyft is an application where you request people to drive you to different places. You can call it a "ride-sharing service". Lyft has been searching for a buyer for quite a while now. Some potential buyers are the tech giants like Apple and Google. Uber has also been participating in the deals.
Bloomberg reports that Uber executives don't think Lyft is worth more than $2 billion.
The antitrust investigation, that would most likely follow, Uber CEO Travis Kalanick says he won't support the deal, even with that price in mind.
When Uber said that Lyft isn't worth more than $2 billion, many people, including me, got shocked because Lyft was worth $5.5 billion during the last funding round, and according to Recode, the company was seeking about $9 billion. Lyft is also reported to have $1.4 billion on hand.
What's your opinion about Uber not thinking that Lyft is more than $2 billion? It's pretty understandable because Uber and Lyft are doing almost the same thing, so they a big rivals so there is no reason for Uber to buy Lyft.
