Opera flaw causes millions of accounts to get hacked

Opera, a company with over 350 million users got one of its services hacked recently. They made this public after their Opera Sync service was taken over by hackers this week.

Opera Sync lets you integrate your browser data and cookies with your other platforms. This includes saving passwords and account details. The reason that this is so dangerous is because quite possibly the 1.7 million people that make use of this service could lose all their other accounts. All emails and passwords linked to the service have been reset.

We still don't completely know how this could happen or if actual user details are now in the hackers hands, but what we do know is that this problem is becoming more and more common. Many companies are getting hacked and DDOS'ed by big hacking groups. For example, SocialBlade, which got hacked only a couple weeks ago, releasing massive YouTuber's passwords.
