The HP Pavilion Wave has an interesting design

When first looking at HP's new Pavilion Wave desktop machine, you might not know what it is at first. To some people, it could look like a speaker or even an Internet router. But alas, it is instead a 10-inch tall desktop Windows 10 machine.

When looking at the specifications of the Pavilion Wave, it is being powered by an Intel 6th-Generation Intel Core processor, up to 16GB of RAM and up to a 2TB Hard Drive, or a 1TB Solid State Drive. Fitting all these components together is a triangular, tri-chamber design, which could be compared to Apple's Mac Pro desktop in some cases. The device is separated into three different zones that house the motherboard, Hard Drives and thermals. Now, when I said that some people could confuse the Wave as a speaker, they could be partly right, as the fabric surrounding the three chambers is a speaker that pumps music upwards and outwards, thanks to a parabolic reflector that also duties as venting hot air out. According to HP, the Wave was designed around its sound system, and it even has Band & Olufsen Play tuning to enhance the sound in the low, mid or high ranges.

As far as connections are concerned, there are three USB 3.0 ports, and slots for USB 3.1 Type-C, HDMI and DisplayPort, Gigabit ethernet and a combo headphone/microphone jack is also found on the Wave. The device can even support two 4K displays at once, and it also features Cortana Voice command ready dual microphones onboard.

The Wave will be available for purchase on September 23rd for $550. What do you think of the HP Pavilion Wave, let us know in either the comment section below or on any of our social media pages! Stay tuned to TechDependent as we cover more of IFA 2016.
