There will be more than just new iPhones launched on September 7th

It looks like Apple's annual September iPhone announcement will be a lot more than just the new iPhone models, as there have been rumors that there would be a new Apple Watch model, and now according to a leaked promotional Beats email, there will be "a selection of new Beats by Dre products..." also announced at the event. The report was provided to iGen.fr.

What exactly will be announced by the company is still unknown, but the company is mainly focused on the headphone and Bluetooth speaker market, so something new could be released that falls into that category. There have been rumors that Apple would launch a Bluetooth version of their EarPods, dubbed 'AirPods' but there is no clear definition if it would wear the Apple or Beats branding.

From recent leaks of the packaging for the new iPhones, they are also expected to ship with Lightning-enabled EarPods, since Apple is removing the 3.5mm headphone jack on the upcoming models; which would push users to use the Lightning connector to listen to music if they don't want a Bluetooth connection.

To refresh your mind, Apple acquired Beats by Dre back in 2014 for $3 Billion; with Beats soaring to the #1 spot in the wireless headphone category, since sales have skyrocketed since then.

As mentioned above, Apple is going to switch their 3.5mm headphone connected EarPods over to the Lightning port, so it would only make sense that Beats would do the same thing. This would be a great deal to the Beats lineup, as none of the current models have support for the Lightning connector. Although, the Beats Pill+ speaker that was announced just about a year ago has a female Lightning connector for charging.
