OS X affected by recently patched iOS security flaw

A security flaw that allowed attackers control over an iOS device by having one link clicked was closed last week by a patch for iOS that was rolled out by Apple. Now, they are patching the exact same flaw found in Safari, the desktop web browser, as well as new updates for it in OS X Yosemite and El Capitan. Based on a link sent to human rights activists, Citizenlab and Lookout Security identified the flaw and also believe the "cyber war" organization NSO Group were selling the exploit to governments like the UAE.

The government surveillance could have anyone as their latest targets, and the vulnerability is well-known, so many people could try and use it. It would probably be wise to install the latest updates and avoid to click on any shady web link.
