ZTE Axon 7 mini is announced with 5.2-inch FHD display and 16MP camera

Thanks to a few leaks over the past month, we already knew many things about the recently announced ZTE Axon 7 mini. The Axon 7 mini is just like its name, a smaller version of the Axon 7, however, it does have downgraded specs from its older brother. Nonetheless, it seems like a great mid-range smartphone.

The Axon 7 mini looks extremely similar to the regular Axon 7, with the only difference being the small "Dolby Audio" logo at the bottom of the back. Other than that, it's almost identical.

With the specs that it has, it looks like it's going to compete with other smartphones such as the HTC A9 and the Moto G4. It sports a 5.2-inch 1080p AMOLED display, 3GB of RAM and a Snapdragon 617 processor. These specifications seem pretty similar to its rivals.

If we compare the Axon 7 mini to the Axon 7, it has half of the storage at 32GB, a 16-megapixel f/1.9 camera rear facing camera (21-megapixel f/1.8), a smaller 2705mAh battery compared to a 3250mAh battery, the same 8-megapixel front facing camera and it still also has dual front-facing speakers. The Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 found on the Axon 7 has been downgraded to 2.0 on the Axon 7 mini.

The Axon 7 mini will be available later this month from Australia, Germany, India, Japan, Poland, Russia, Saudi Arabia, and Spain. It will be available in Ion Gold, which is the same as the Axon 7, and Platinum Grey, which is not the same as Quartz Grey on the Axon 7. The Axon 7 mini will also be coming to the US, but no pricing or availability details have been released yet.
