LG's Smart ThinQ Hub will now utilise Amazon's Alexa

The Amazon Echo and this device above looks pretty similar, and the device above is LG's Smart ThinQ Hub. Announced at CES earlier this year, the Hub connects to a wide-range of smart home devices, display notifications and messages from your smartphone and other devices, and even streams music.

LG's announcement of the device only publicised that the device's variety of features end there. Amazon's Echo was more of a well-known and reputable smart home assistant. Now at IFA 2016 in Berlin, LG has stated that it will be implementing Amazon Alexa functionality to the Smart ThinQ Hub. Amazon have in fact decided to help LG with the task.

Yes, so this essentially means that LG isn't too interested in developing its own assistant system and functionalities. According to CNET, the device will not receive Amazon Alexa’s full range of features. Alexa could be in charge of basic functionality such as monitoring the weather, playing music, as well as adjusting your calendar.

There hasn't been any news on the final pricing, but do you think you'll be copping it? Be sure to let us know in the comments section below and don't forget to connect with us on any of our social media pages right now!
