Apple releases new iPhone 7 Plus with interesting new features
So about an hour ago the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus were announced alongside the new Apple watch, and whether you like or not, the phones does come with some pretty cool features. So the even though both of the phones look almost exactly like the 6S and the 6S plus, there are some differences that you can see. Everything that has changed was leaked before.
To start off, the biggest change we can see, the new colour, Jet Black, also described by others as Piano black. This colour is a glossy black colour. They also brought out a other new colour called just "black", which is a matte version of Jet Black.
Another big difference is the home button, which is now touch sensitive which can be compared to the latest MacBook's touchpads. The storage of the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus will start at 32 and go all the way up to 256 GB.
The camera on the 7 Plus has been upgraded. It's now a dual-camera that has 2x optical zoom. One of the two lenses is an extra wide angle and the other one is a normal iPhone lens. The phone can also zoom in 10x but it becomes a digital zoom so there will be a loss of quality.
The display of both devices is claimed by apple to be 25% brighter, so better for outside use. The display however, has not changed, its still 1080 x 1920.
The loss of the headphone jack is a tragic one though, but Apple has tried to make up with a set of stereo speakers and lightning earbuds. Apple has also brought out Airbuds which are wireless headphones that will be covered in a separate article.
According to Apple, the battery of the iPhone 7 will last 2 hours longer than the iPhone 6S and the iPhone 7 Plus will last one hour longer than the 6S plus. Both phones have also received a IP67 rating, which means they are water and dust resistent.
