The new PS4 Pro isn't a big leap forward for Sony

Sony has finally decided to upgrade the PlayStation 4’s hardware. The substitute has the codename “Neo”, and the Neo console has officially been unveiled. Neo will get upgraded specs, like better graphics, better performance and also a 4K resolution support. The codename is Neo, but it will probably be called PlayStation 4 Pro.

The GPU is upgraded, so the PS4 Pro will be able to output HDR and 4K video. It will also come with a TB hard drive and boosted clock rate. "PS4 Pro is not intended to blur the line between console generations, instead, the vision is to take the PS4 experience to extraordinary new levels." Says the chief architect, Mark Cerny.

Mark Cerny also said that titles like Call Of Duty: Infinite Warfare and Modern Warfare: Remastered will be capable of being played on PS4 Pro, even although they are developed for the PS4. But not all games will be able to play on Sony´s new device yet. For an example, Fifa 16 will not be supported until later this year.

Right now, both Netflix and YouTube is developing apps for the PS4 Pro. We can expect an improved VR experience from Sony’s new device, according to Mark Cerny. For an example will developers be able to increase the crispiness of the scenes.

This time, the upgrade isn’t that big. Most game console manufactures are mostly betting on a bigger upgrade on their consoles. So, do you think this upgrade is worth the extra money, or will you wait for the next, bigger upgrade?
