Is Apple going to join the wireless charger market?
If you are a big brand, like Samsung or Apple, it´s very hard to hide something. Nearly every time before new product releases there comes out leaks and rumours. And pretty often, those rumours are very similar to the final product. There are lots of different reasons why people get to know a big brands secret. This time, it was Apple´s patent filings that revealed their secret.
Apple has sent in a patent filing, which shows that Apple is working on a wireless charger. In the filing, there were some prototype designs attached.
The charging dock is planned to have a USB-C type port. The power can come from a laptop, with USB ports, or from an electrical output.
But, isn’t this pretty late to start manufacture wireless chargers now? Wireless charging has been used for years now, so it´s pretty weird that Apple is starting to think about to make a wireless charger now.
Wireless charging is pretty useful, but it´s not the best invention ever. Maybe that is why Apple waited so long before they decided to join the wireless charging market. They thought it wasn’t worth it to manufacture.
If Apple is going to make a wireless charger, then they need to release it in time for the iPhone 8. Because there isn’t any iPhone right now with wireless charging, but the iPhone 8 can maybe be the first.
As I said before wireless charging isn’t the best invention ever, but if Apple makes a good and cheap wireless charging dock, then it could be a nice deal.
