Samsung expands Galaxy Note 7 recall to Canada

In regards to safety and concern over Samsung's Galaxy Note 7 costumers, the electronics giant has partnered with Health Canada; which is the governing agency responsible for costumer safety to issue the recall of effected Galaxy Note 7s in the country. With the partnership in place, users can now swap out their affected phones for a new one. To reveal the importance of the issue, both Samsung and Health Canada are making it known that the Note 7 has been responsible for at least 70 combustions alone in the United States.

Samsung hasn't been real solid on explaining how many cases of the exploding Note 7's they have seen. Last time Samsung announced the details, there were 35 reports, instead of 70 reports, which was mentioned above. The number has since more than doubled between the two reports, which could show that the risk of owning a defected Note 7 is much higher than expected. Samsung has also reported of one Note 7 explosion up in Canada, but only time will tell if that number will increase with time.

Interestingly, according to Samsung, there were 21,953 sales of the effected phone in Canada before the halt of sales. Just like the US recall, Samsung will swap out all defected phones for another one within several days, or users can just wait for the newer version of the Note 7 to be available.
