Apple reportedly in talks with McLaren
The tech giant Apple has been possibly in contact with McLaren, the super automobile manufacturer. Although this is a developing story, and there may already be an answer, here are all the details.
Apple likes a lot about McLaren, whether they wanted to purchase this company outright, or just pieces of it is unclear. According to 9to5mac, Apple was looking to get a slice of McLaren's "automotive-related technology, engineering prowess, and patent portfolio." If you are unaware what McLaren is, they're a luxury car company who's cars are used in F1 races around the world. These "high performing", high priced sports cars could be the next image of an Apple Car?
Now, before you get too excited, McLaren has already cleared the air. In a statement McLaren delivered to The Verge, reported by 9to5mac, McLaren said: "We can confirm that McLaren is not in discussion with Apple in respect of any potential investment." Just because McLaren said no doesn't mean others will. Apple is trying to shake up their automobile team and it looks like they want a partner, or at least their partner's ideas.
